I can see that. Sean Payton one of my favorite coaches. But it'll never be like the magic he and Brees and the Saints had when they were good.

To put into perspective how over-rated Payton is.

Career Records:

Mike McCarthy: 143-92
Sean Payton: 152-89
Mike Tomlin: 154-85

Tomlin (7 AFC North division titles) has 1 more SB appearance and McCarthy had 6 regular-season division titles, three NFC Championship games and a Super Bowl win compared to Payton's 7 division titles, 2 NFC championship games and 1 SB win (with multiple playoff chokes).

The idea that he was the 2nd best coach in the NFL (Andy Reid clearly is) is just laughable and preposterous.

To put into perspective how over-rated Payton is.

I don't consider him overrated. I think most would consider him a top 5 coach in the NFL. And that's probably what he is.

I'd probably rank Payton 4th. Slightly ahead of guys like Arians, Shanny, Carrol, Vrabel, McDermott and Tomlin.
